Physical Therapy
Beyond The Gym
Oxford Dictionary defines Physical Therapy as “The treatment of disease, injury, or deformity by physical methods such as massage, heat treatment, and exercise rather than by drugs or surgery.”
We believe physical therapy is much more: BEYOND THE GYM.
Our plan is to optimize patient independence and the safety of functional mobility. This includes promoting effective development of movement patterns like rolling, sitting, crawling, standing, walking, running, stair management, progressing to fitness and recreation.
Intentional training for the transitions between these basic movements, using balance, coordination and strength, result in good postural control. The outcome of having good postural control is the ability to use various movement repertoires that allow for optimal independence and safety. How do we accomplish this?
